About Masjid As-Salaam
Our Story
In 2001, a group of young Muslims started a daʿwah program in the Illawarra region. In 2008, the "Essence of Life Islamic Group" was formed, and the community continued to grow. By the grace of Allāh, in 2016 the community purchased its current home — now known as Masjid As-Salaam.
Our Mission
We believe we are among the most active Islamic organisations, providing services for all people regardless of age, gender, or race — from nightly lessons and Quran classes to youth camps, Eid festivals, and community support.
