By using the Masjid As-Salaam Wollongong website (“Site”) at maswollongong.org.au, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
1. Who We Are
Masjid As-Salaam Wollongong is a nonprofit Islamic community organisation located at 46 Berkeley Road, Berkeley NSW 2506, Australia. We provide Islamic education, prayer services, and community programs to the Illawarra region.
2. Website Use
This Site is provided for informational and community purposes. You may use it to learn about our programs, access prayer times, read community news, and contact us.
You must not:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its systems
- Submit false or misleading information through any form
- Scrape or harvest data from the Site without permission
- Use the AI chatbot to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
3. Member Portal
The member portal at /portal is for registered community members. By creating an account you agree to:
- Provide accurate and up-to-date personal information
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
- Use the portal only for legitimate community purposes
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. AI Chatbot (Walid)
Our AI assistant Walid is powered by Anthropic’s Claude and governed by Tork Network. Walid is designed to provide helpful information about our masjid and community services.
Walid’s responses are AI-generated and may not always be accurate. Do not rely on Walid for religious rulings (fatwa), medical advice, legal advice, or emergency assistance. For urgent matters, contact us directly at 0412 364 441.
By using the chatbot, you agree not to attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or misuse the AI system. Conversations are subject to our AI Governance Policy.
5. Donations
Donations made through our Donate page support Masjid As-Salaam Wollongong’s community programs and operations.
- Donations are voluntary and non-refundable unless agreed in writing
- We are not responsible for third-party payment processing fees
- Tax deductibility depends on your individual circumstances — consult your accountant
- Cryptocurrency donations are accepted at your own risk given price volatility
6. Program Enrolments & Events
Registration for programs, events, and volunteer activities is subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events. In the case of cancellation, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants. Masjid As-Salaam is not liable for costs incurred as a result of event changes beyond our control.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this Site — including text, images, logos, and audio — is owned by or licensed to Masjid As-Salaam Wollongong unless otherwise noted. You may share our content for non-commercial community purposes with attribution. Commercial use requires written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
This Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Masjid As-Salaam Wollongong is not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of this Site or its content, to the extent permitted by Australian law.
